Kit Frick is the founding editor of Copper Lantern Studio. When you choose to work with Copper Lantern, you'll be working with Kit personally. She brings 15 years of experience in editing and book publishing to her work as an independent editor and writing coach at Copper Lantern. Kit began her career as an intern at The Overlook Press, then as an intern and Editorial Assistant at Simon & Schuster. In 2009, she joined the editorial team at Black Lawrence Press, where she is currently a Senior Editor. She has studied with copyeditors, book editors, and literary agents through the Center for Publishing at New York University. Prior to launching Copper Lantern, she began editing book manuscripts and business documents for private clients, which she now continues through the Studio.
Kit is also a writer. She is the author of the young adult novel See All the Stars (Simon & Schuster / Margaret K. McElderry Books, 2018). A second YA novel will follow in 2019. Kit's first full-length poetry collection is A Small Rising Up in the Lungs (New American Press, 2018), and she is also the author of two poetry chapbooks published by Slope Editions and Rye House Press. Kit studied writing and literature at Sarah Lawrence College and received her MFA in Creative Writing from Syracuse University.
